Hadco: Green, Sustainable, Energy-Efficient

Hadco is pleased to announce a new modular lighting solution for switching HID to LED in our refractive optic luminaire. We are moving forward very quickly with many LED solutions and I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about one of those available now.
In a recent survey, over 90% of the respondents agreed that modularity (the ability to upgrade a fixture without the necessity of replacing the entire unit) was very important.  This type of interchangeable electrical gear system is nothing new; those of you who are even remotely familiar with Hadco post-top luminaires are also familiar with our modular, twist-lock ballast and lamping assembly.  Having been launched to the field over a decade ago, our twist-lock module has been a key selling feature.  Completely tool-less removal features as well as quick-disconnect wire assemblies have allowed for simple replacement or upgrades to ballast and lamping for years in our products. Hadco Solar Post top Specifications

If LED devices are on the lighting design frontier, then solar lighting with self-contained batteries is definitely a push beyond. Hadco has partnered with SolarOne® Solutions in our quest to go “green” by introducing the capability of integrating our top-selling post-top and pendant fixtures with SO-Bright™ solar capabilities. Our solar-powered lighting systems overcome barriers of distance and challenging site conditions. No wires. No trenching. No additional transformer installations. The solar panels are internally connected to batteries and a SO-Bright™ management system that regulates output regardless of weather conditions. Each system is self-sufficient and takes roughly an hour to install. Find out more about Hadco's decorative post top offerings.

In today’s highly energy environment, people rarely question the promise and benefits of solar power. It’s no longer a question of if, but when and in what forms. As it turns out, “Solar Power” comes in many forms. All too often those forms are confused by the general public. Most laypeople still think of solar power for heating their pool or domestic hot water. However there is another form of solar power that generates electricity (photovoltaics). Under this category, there are several sub-categories that range from huge power plants that may employ concentrators generating mega-watts (MW) of power into the electrical grid, all the way to tiny “grid-independent systems” that use solar cells to charge a battery with micro-watts (µW) or milli-watts (mW) of power that in turn provides power to a dedicated load – such as a calculator or flash light.
